Orders and Shipping

How do I make a payment?

1. Credit cards – ShopJewelCity.com accepts all major credit cards. At checkout, you will be prompted to enter your desired credit card information.

2. Paypal – ShopJewelCity.com accepts payments from Paypal through your Paypal account, credit card, or debit card. Paypal also offers a Bill Me Later option, which allows “No Payments + No Interest if paid in full in the first six months on purchases of $99+.” Learn more about Paypal and Paypal’s Bill me Later option.

3. *Wire transfers – ShopJewelCity.com accepts wire transfers. Upon selection of the wire transfer payment method, you will receive further instructions on how to complete your purchase. Once we receive the wire transfer confirmation from our bank, please allow 24 hours (1 business day) for purchase confirmation to be sent to you via email.

4. *Money orders – ShopJewelCity.com accepts money orders. Upon selection of the money order payment method, you will receive further instructions on how to complete your purchase. Please send all Money orders to the following address: Shop Jewel City 451 Hungerford Drive, #107 Rockville, MD 20850 Your order confirmation will be sent to you via email with 24 hours (1 business day) after receiving the money order.

Is your website safe for placing an order?

Absolutely. ShopJewelCity.com offers the highest level of encryption and security possible. We provide 128-bit encryption and all transactions are done over a secure server. Our SSL certificate with GEOTRUST can be seen on the bottom right of the site.

How do you send products?

We use USPS, Fedex, and UPS for insured shipping anywhere in the U.S. We will email you the tracking number once your order has been shipped. Since all items are sent completely insured, a signature is required at the time of delivery. Please do not accept packages that have been opened or appear damaged/mishandled, and promptly call us at 301.605.7741 between 12pm – 6pm EST US time for further instructions.

How long does it take for me to receive my product?

Please allow approximately 14 business days for shipping. For payments made via wire transfer or money order, shipping time begins after your payment is received. You will receive an email confirmation once your order is placed, and another email with your tracking number once your order has shipped. If you create an account with ShopJewelCity.com, please log into your account on our site to check the status of your order.

What are your shipping charges?

We offer a flat shipping rate dependent on the total order value of your purchase.

Do you ship internationally?

Can I choose for my item to be in White or Yellow Gold?

Yes, you can choose between 18 karat white or yellow gold at no additional cost for most items on the site. Please indicate your preference for 18 Karat White or Yellow Gold in the special instructions box at checkout.

Can I choose for my item to be in Platinum or Rose Gold?

Yes, we can make your items in Platinum or Rose Gold. Please write to us at info@shopjewelcity.com or call us at 301.605.7741 between 12pm – 6pm US EST time for more information on this customization.

Exchanges, Damaged Items, and Cancellations

What is your Exchange policy?

We offer exchanges for items of equal or higher value. Your item must be unworn, undamaged and returned to us in it’s original packaging with it’s certificate within 7 business days. Please call or email us for a return label to be sent to you via email. Return label charges are the same as our shipping rates – these rates allow the item to be returned to us fully insured. Once we have received and processed your item for exchange, please allow up to 21 days to see your credit reflected in your site account. Charges for the return label will be deducted from your store credit. In the event you made your purchase as a Guest, call or email us for a ShopJewelCity.com gift card to be sent to you via mail.

What if the item delivered if damaged/defective?

Please call our Customer Service at 301.605.7741 between 12pm – 6pm EST US time within 48 hours of receiving the damaged/defective product. The item must be returned to us within 7 business days. ShopJewelCity.com reserves the right to determine whether the item should be repaired or replaced. We offer repair services for damaged items and send the repaired item back to you within 21 days. We reserve the right to determine whether the item is a Manufactured defect – in the event the item cannot be repaired, we will refund your payment within 21 business days.

Can I cancel my order once it’s placed?

No. All of our products are made to order – hence, once the order is placed, it cannot be cancelled. The only option is for you to exchange the item for another of equal or higher value – please read our Exchange Policy for more details.

Certificates

How do I know the purity/quality of the product I like?

Every purchase arrives with a certificate that provides all the details of the item. You will see a sample of this certificate on every product page. Each product page also lists the details of the item on the page itself.

General Jewelry Questions

Are your diamonds conflict-free?

Yes. ShopJewelCity.com only stocks diamonds that are from respected suppliers, who strictly follow the standards of the Kimberely Process – an international system that regulates the diamond trade and ensures conflict-free diamonds.

Is the gold weight listed on your site inclusive of stone weight?

Yes. The total gold weight listed for each product is the gross gold weight, which includes any semi, precious, and/or diamond stones in the item.

I see a few items on your site that say rose-cut or Polki diamond. What is this?

Rose-cut or “Polki” diamonds are one of the antique cuts of diamonds. They generally have a flat top and flat base, and a unique shape. This cut can be dated back to the 1500’s. Why can’t my diamond jewelry be set in 22 karat Gold? We recommend diamonds being set in 18 karat Gold. 22 Karat is often too soft to hold Diamonds. It is possible to set Rose-cut Diamonds in 22 Karat Gold depending on the style and design of the piece.

What are Simulated Diamonds (in the Lafonn line?)

Simulated Diamonds are simply objects or materials with gemological characteristics that are similar to those of a real diamond. Only a trained gemologist can see the difference between a natural and simulated diamond. These objects and materials may be lab-grown, natural, or a combination of both. They are carefully developed to give the exact look and feel of a Diamond.
